Ay least Koppel spoke the truth about the MSM. I bewlieve he left out that labor, that is working people’s concerns, are no longer the concerns of an elite press corps.
Koppel misses saying that forces behind the news channels very consciously see to it that there is no reporting of the issues Koppel rightly wishes covered. The owners of the networks have a much greater interest in caring for the relations with the White House such as the CBS which famously refused go out with its own scoop the Abu Ghraib until its source threatened taking the story to the New Yorker. The reason? As CBS boss Les Moonves said to me in Cannes France on my direct question: - The White House did not want us to go out with it”. Alors monsieur Koppel take your complaint where it belongs.
