More than one year after the first surge of climate concern in the media the issue has reached the G8 community. When International TV news addressed individual G8 countries in this context, more than half of the stories focused on the US.
However, over the course of the last 13 months climate issues have played a minor role in foreign news. Overall G8 countries — US, UK, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swiss and Arabic Satellite TV news — devoted less than 2% of their reports to climate issues. Climate protection contributed most to the international media image of Germany, Canada, Japan and the US, while it played a minor role for Italy or France.
News on climate change was mostly negative for France, Japan and Russia. Germany also could not project its desired image as climate champion, as its solitary decision to phase out nuclear power was questioned by journalists, experts and politicians from other countries. On the other hand, the US profited from the small steps towards a more climate-friendly rhetoric.
Climate change has been embraced by German TV as one of the most important problems, which is especially evident from the outstandingly high share of climate reports in domestic news as well.
Germany in the frontline
When international TV reported about climate change, coverage focused on the US, but climate issues were more important for the international image of Germany, Canada or Japan.

There has been little realism in the past 60 years about environmental damage such as HARRP SONAR Chemtrails and industrial wastes such as cyanide. mercury, cadmium anlead and other heavy metals not to mention Urainium tailings open pit mining, strip and mountain top mining. All of which kill hundreds of thousands yearly. No need to worry they are poor people living in remote communities and the companies doing it have responsibility to no governments only the sacred shareholders. The shareholders hold the key and they live in orgainc communities on Martha’s Vineyard, Humboldt County, Tuxedo Park, Lake Forest,Aspen where they can hide behind the gated, policed doors of privilage. They have appointed the poor to die horribly for them.
