The celebrated historian and author reads from his latest Truthdig essay, which examines Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s articles of impeachment and the lack of attention they garnered in the mainstream media.

It’s no suprise that the corporate media pays no attention to Mr Kucincich’s articles of impeachment. The media has been a cheerleader for this war from the start. From my standpoint, impeachment is only the beginning. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others should be prosecuted for war crimes.
Thank you Gore for being a Burr under Mad George’s saddle. Right on.
As long as we still have so many of wall street republicians and George Bush and Cheney’s oil buddies, there will be no impeachment. But just wait until we have a new democratic congress and watch them send these thieves to jail - I hope! In a few months things can change. Now how do we get rid of uncaring, unthinking main stream media!
This may be one and only one instance where I am not upset about Congress moving without very much media attention. I can only imagine the firestorm that Limbaugh and others of his ilk would try to raise if they had the MSM backing.
MSM needs to be made accountable for their part and lack of part in providing all fact based news and not picking and choosing whats broadcasted. One way is to attack their pocketbook. Letters to sponsors calling for reliiabe, relevant coverage with a threat of boycotting would go a long way towards bringing about needed changes in MSM reporting/nonreporting ways.
Nice that people with big names are catching up with some of the rest of us. I wrote about this on my blog earlier, and as a life-long journalist with “credentials,” I’ve been writing about the shift of the corporate media from news to propaganda for a long time. It’s simple fact: If you want to know what’s happening, you must forget television, radio, newspapers and most of the magazines and monitor several news web sites daily.
