this is a fascinating question. Does anyone know how many of our 43 Presidents had one parent who was not an American? And who were they? If Obama is the candidate, I suspect he has no idea how good it was that Hillary was such a strong opponent. The Republicans will leave no stone unturned in trying to make more than a mess of him - and I can just hear all the people wailing,"Gee, it was really unfair of me to say what ugly treatment he got from Hillary!" It's just the beginning - face it, this is the most racist country - but it's even more misogynistic. It's hard for me to understand what we women do that earns the unmitigated hatred of men when we dare to think that we are their equals in intelligence, earning power, etc. And you know what, guys??? You've made it more than necessary for us to make sure that we stay in the race as best we can. How dare all of you!!

I absolutely agree. I believe that most of the talk about Rev Wright is merely an attempt to hide racism. It's much more acceptable to say you won't vote for him because of his minister's rantings. If not hiding racism (or being para racist), then why no similar outcry about McCain's wholehearted acceptance of the support of the Rev Hagey, whose hate mongering is anti-Catholic among other things?

African Americans are used to this tactic. They hear the same kind of excuses for being passed over for promotions or simply not getting the job to begin with. I heard a Southern Democrat say "We're just not ready" for a Black President. At least he was being honest.
