The dutch media is much more varied and less corrupt than its american counterpart. There is a strong public interest in the netherlands about this election because since 2002 the dutch minister has consented to virtually every whim of the U.S. The people are hoping that a change in the U.S. would result in a change in the current political situation here as well because it is strongly influenced by the U.S. This fuels the strong interest in the campaigns.
