whoever is writing about marcos and the zapatistas really does not know what he is talking about. i will tell in little words as possible:suppose you are at home and a man comes in and takes some food from your kitchen then walks away eating it. then he comes back the next day and kills your mother and walks out of your house laughing about it. so you tell the authorities and they just shrug their shoulders . so you go to the cia, fbi, superior courts, etc. still no help. so, when no one helps you, you barricade yourself in your house, you get a gun and say anyone who gets near i will shoot them and i will defend myself. that is what is going on in chiapas. the government wants to erradicate the indigenous people, get them out of the jungle so they can use it to their convenience. they say those stupid indians, ignorant people that are no good to us. kill them. we want the jungle to put up hotels and walmarts. comandante marcos is trying to keep the indigenous culture alive. this is a human rights movement. got a problem with it?

Dave Marash is an excellent journalist and I will miss him on Al Jazeera a lot. He still supports the channel even though he has reservations about the way it seems to be moving.

I watch Al Jazeera English and quite like it. I thought Dave Marash would have added more to the network by being a reporter rather than anchor. Obviously he is very angry with the network and is venting his anger by giving interviews. But am sure they Al Jazeera will survive and improve. If you look at the american network's coverage of the world, it is pretty stereotypical and narrow minded.

Thank goodness there are still people in this tawdry business with ethics. American poverty is real and institutionalized it is endless and grinding. The press has never since the days of Depression done well with understanding how poverty in America is enforced.
Mexico one has to read B.Travern to understand the Institution of peonage and poverty there. To this day the poor are treated like cattle and driven North if they are strong enough to be slaves in the U.S.
The rulers of the Arab world cannot dare to be honest about poverty as the parasite princes are as bad as the American Poverty Pimps, or the Chinese Chicago School slavers.
Thank you David Marsh for showing the other anchors that integrity is not dead.
