On Friday March 28, media innovators converged for a panel titled “How the Internet is Changing American Politics.”
The participants, all trailblazers in the world of new media, compared 2008 campaign tactics, questioned the horserace mentality of the election coverage, debated the role of the media and even questioned the nature of truth.
Moderating was media critic Jeff Jarvis of CUNY and the blog BuzzMachine. The panelists were Arianna Huffington (Huffington Post), Micah Sifry (TechPresident.com), Jay Rosen (NewAssignment.net) and Lisa Tozzi (The New York Times).
The crowd itself was also high profile; also present were Dina Kaplan of Blip.tv and Brian Stelter and Saul Hansell of the New York Times.
