I totally agree that race card is still being played. There are those ( not all ) who have wondered into wonderland with Alice, they act as though the race card is not being played, instead they would rather be like a snail, go inside the shell and come out when they think it’s safe.

I heard Lou Dobbs say he just don’t get it, I wonder what it is that he just don’t get? This race card game is no joke and the media has not tried to understand the African-American. The media doesn’t seem understand that Africian-Americans have feelings also.

Just about everytime the media says something about Sen. Obama they flash the picture with Sen. Obama and his former Pastor. It would be nice for the media not to flash that picture, but flash the picture of Sen. Obama.

I believe that when we as a people look deep inside our hearts and ask ourselves how can I better understand my brother’s and my sister’s, ( no matter what race you are).

I applaud the opposition to Anderson’s remarks. Needless to say there were many people back in the older days when white people did not accept the “blacks” as they do today. I recall when “Blacks” would go to a house and knock on a door the residents would peak out through the window and would never go to answer the door. In fact I well remember back in the 50s when I was processing through Ft Meade after returning from Korea, about 5 of us went to a Pizza place and “Willy” a black and a hell’va nice guy was with us. The waitress told us we could go inside but not “Willy.” He had to go to the back door to wait for his pizza. Racism has been dramatically reduced but not completely eliminated. If one should go to Brazil, all races are treated with the same respect.

Hooray for Gergen, Bernstein and Martin. I am so sick of the so called journalists wasting our time and boring us by focusing almost entirely on the sound bytes that they can take out of context to create a fictional narrative. How I wish that SOMEONE had rerun part of Obama’s speech that was actually in keeping with the points he was trying to make. But no, the network clones all went in lockstep, insulting our intelligence and displaying their lack of same–as usual. Gotcha!!

And the media’s obssessive perversity with race continues. Today, in the NY Times, William Kristol wrote an article statting “Let’s Not, and Say We Did.” In Kristol’s mind “the last thing we need now is a heated national conversation about race.” And just when is this conversation supposed to happen? Will there ever be a right time to have an open, and honest conversation about race in America? If the people of America decide to follow Kristol’s advice of ” What we need are sober, results-oriented debates about economics, social mobility, education, family policy and the like-…” as if all of the previous conversations like the foregoing have solved the problem.
Kristol’s conservative leanings are glaring and his code speak is the same dialogue that’s been said for decades to placate blacks and allow whites to ignore the genie in the bottle.
