How could any pubication committed to public service hire people who are demonstrably dishonest? The only conclusion I can draw is that these publications are not committed to public service, but to corporate profit only. It is sad that war criminals continue to be placed in public policy positions in this country and no matter what atrocities they are responsible for, people like James Taranto of the WSJ will not hold them accountable for their crimes, even for crimes against the very country to which they claim to pledge allegiance. Someone like D. Rumsfeld, who is responsible for the needless deaths or permanent disabilities of tens of thousands of American soldiers, being asked to become a fellow of Stanford's Hoover Institution, or Yale's recent appointment of Blair as a faculty member. What's next? GW Bush being appointed president of Harvard? Any real apportionment of justice would have these villains serving life sentences in a federal penitentiary. The Nuremburg trials are made a farce by the very country that freed the world from the two most brutal empire-building enterprises of the 20th century. Shame on Taranto. Shame on the WSJ.
