I believe part of sttlement in the lawsuit the govt filed against Microsoft a few years ago is that MS agreed to build in "back doors" or other means of allowing their software to be used by out govt to spy on us and keep trasck of what we do on the net. Their lates O/S Virusta "phone home" and reports on users all the time, what they use, what they do, where they go, who they communicate with. The govt went easy on MS if MS would agree to do this. MS already does it in China too, developed the OS for Chinese to spy on net users. The more MS buys up, the more they can insure no one will ever have an ounce of privacy left. I wouldn't be surprised if out govt is funding these hostile take overs for this purpose.
