Danny the economy is a train wreck in very slow motion.It was a mess under George 41. At that time very smart lawyers lead by Toby Miller were trying to make Reagnomics work and all they could produce was Iran Contra, S&L, and the NarcoState. They ruined Latin America's economy and we had to take in the young disaffected labor force of several nations. This of course screwed up the housing market, banking and many other sectors in this country. Clintons buried that like cats in a sandbox. Bush lacked the intelligence to keep it up and went to war to hide his daddy's and whole lot of others treason and misdeeds. All the kings men cannot put America back together as we see in Shock Therapy. I fear that the best for capitalism that can come out with is a mixed economy: at the worst, International State Capitalism or the fascist state with Clinton as the smiley face. Once in Washington, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours - just an easy way of promoting one's agenda. We have politicians in Washington that do not support our Constitution, and every time the government doles out something to the American public, we lose more freedom. Are we a free country? I don't believe so. During my travels to many countries, people have more individual freedom than we do, even though they can't speak out against their government. We are very fortunate that we can speak out against government but where does it get us besides "nowhere." When a politician gets caught in "wrongdoing", they admit they made a mistake, take responsibility but continue doing the same even maybe in a different way. Our politicians in lieu of defending the constitution want to immunize the telecom for going along with the President regarding the FISA. Senator Feinstein will not support the Constitution but indicated she would vote for immunity regarding Telecom because the President asked them to provide information.
