I think that maybe the American public isn’t really that stupid, but that the MSM treats us like we’re stupid, along with Washington and Hollywood. When you’re treated like children, you think like a child and behave like one.

When they pull crap like this that is so blatantly false, and express surprise that we, as human beings and Americans, are angry that they would peddle such garbage to us, it infuriates me to no end.

This reminds me of when Jeff Greenfield of CNN smeared Obama with a piece comparing him to the president of Iran because they dressed in similar ways. Greenfield said it was just a joke, but it wasn’t. It was a subtle way of telling us “Obama’s a Muslim! Can’t trust him”. Then you take into account the showing of footage of Osama Bin Laden with the words “Where’s Obama?”. It’s hard to believe these are all, in the words of Reagan’s admirers, “innocent mistakes”.

Just how stupid does Washington Post’s assistant managing editor think we readers are?

“We didn’t say it was a false rumor,” [Bill] Hamilton added. “To me, a rumor is not true.”

That’s like saying, “To me, war is peace, ignorance is strength, and up is down.” Hamilton is resorting to Orwellian “newspeak” to defend right-wing trash journalism.

Is it too much to expect that the Washington Post should employ an assistant managing editor who 1) knows to use dictionary definitions, not his own; 2) understands what is and is not “news”; 3) has a modicum of journalistic integrity; and 4) won’t mock readers with such twisted English excuses for sleazy journalism.

According to all the dictionaries I could find, “rumor” does not mean “not true.” It means an “unsubstantiated” and usually “unattributed” statement. Rumors may be true, partially true, or completely false.

(BTW, as long as we’re trafficking in rumors, I heard that Bill Hamilton once passed a college English course.)

It’s outrageous that WP’s assistant managing editor would try to justify his paper’s “swift-boating” of Sen. Obama with such a blatant doubletalk. Perhaps the publisher should consider changing the paper’s name to “The Oceania Post,” to better reflect its role as defender of the Perpetual War Party through newspeak.

So let me get this straight…either the Washington Post editors are a bunch of dumb idiots who don’t know how to write an article and advance a simple thesis that Obama is a victim of untrue Internet rumors or you just mistakenly left out the supposed point of this front page article. Yeah…

No wonder readership for newspapers is down.

Many are smart, knowledgeable, strong and either men or women. Many of these have worked all of their lives. Most of them have not had extensive experience in top level executive positions in government. Therefore, they believe they have the no right to seek the nomination for the Presidency. One person has a similar lack of experience but she believes that being a former First Lady (the classical non-executive, non-constitutional, non-anything poistion) gives her the right to push herself forward to unjustified heights.

The Washington Post “Story” suggesting Barak Obama may be a closet muslim ranks right up there with MoveOn.org’s “Betrayus” clunker. In both instances people blundered so shamelessly that one wonders about the brains and the thought processes at work leading up to a decision that is so obviously stupid. Where do these people come from, and why are they given positions of power? Unbelievable.

Please tell me why everything good bad or otherwise has to be about Hillary Clinton. Is she the only one in this country you people think is evil? Please get a grip guys. Just because she is smart, knowledgeable, strong and a Woman too boot-she deserves credit for having worked hard most of her adult life to obtain the right to seek the Presidential nomination. For those who do not agree, then so be it.
