Jewish Group Wants Media To Give “Perfected Jew” Coulter Cold Shoulder

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) called on mainstream media outlets to stop inviting Ann Coulter as a guest commentator/pundit and strongly condemned her comments that Jews should be “perfected” by accepting the New Testament and that America would be better off if Judaism were “thrown away” and all Americans were Christian.

During the October 8 edition of CNBC’s The Big Idea, host Donny Deutsch asked right-wing pundit Ann Coulter: “If you had your way … and your dreams, which are genuine, came true … what would this country look like?”

Coulter responded, “It would look like New York City during the [2004] Republican National Convention. In fact, that’s what I think heaven is going to look like.” She described the convention as follows: “People were happy.

They’re Christian. They’re tolerant. They defend America.” Deutsch then asked, “It would be better if we were all Christian?” to which Coulter responded, “Yes.” Later in the discussion, Deutsch said to her: “[Y]ou said we should throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians,” and Coulter again replied, “Yes.” When pressed by Deutsch regarding whether she wanted to be like “the head of Iran” and “wipe Israel off the Earth,” Coulter stated: “No, we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say. … That’s what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws.”

After a commercial break, Deutsch said that “Ann said she wanted to explain her last comment,” and asked her, “So you don’t think that was offensive?”

Coulter responded: “No. I’m sorry. It is not intended to be. I don’t think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews. We believe the Old Testament. As you know from the Old Testament, God was constantly getting fed up with humans for not being able to live up to all the laws. What Christians believe — this is just a statement of what the New Testament is — is that that’s why Christ came and died for our sins. Christians believe the Old Testament. You don’t believe our testament.” Coulter later said: “We consider ourselves perfected Christians. For me to say that for you to become a Christian is to become a perfected Christian is not offensive at all.”

“While Ann Coulter has freedom of speech, news outlets should exercise their freedom to use better judgment,” said NJDC Executive Director Ira N. Forman. “Just as media outlets don’t invite those who believe that Martians walk the earth to frequently comment on science stories, it’s time they stop inviting Ann Coulter to comment on politics.”

“How does someone who says that Judaism should be thrown out, that Jews should be ‘perfected’ and that America would be better off were everyone Christian continue to receive a megaphone and platform from the news networks?” continued Forman. “When will the media say ‘enough is enough?’”

Ann Coulter, like many other religious zealots, doesn’t have the common sense to come out of the rain.

Coulter is no Christian but a brain damaged human (I say human because she is no lady) who is too offensive for words.

Ann Couler is about 50 cards shy of a full deck, mentally. I think that any news network who has this bigot on as a pundit should be boycotted until they stop. She is only trying to sell her poorly written and asine books. She should come out of the closet and quit hiding behind the religious rights “if I call them homosexuals long enough, and loud enough, no one will know that I am!”

I agree with all the negative coments about Ann Coulter. The only important remark I can remember was the one she made on Fox News. Woman should not be used in the military and sent into Combat. Maybe we could send her into Combat, It could improve her mean outlook on life.

I despise Ann Coulter. I see her as a shrewd, calculating, opportunist, worthy of being shunned, derided or ignored at every opportunity. But to shut her often foul, always laughable presence off of the air at the behest of a ‘Jewish group’, or any other group, for that matter, is indefensible.

Take her off of the air because she’s stupid, lacks good taste in clothing, or her remarks make yur anchors look silly…but not because some group finds her opinions offensive. That path leads to the ostracism of Desmond Tutu.

As a Jewish person who went to Catholic jr. high (had no friends as everybody said I killed Jesus), Episcopalian high school, had a born-again Christian roommate in college and then worked for a year in Utah at a Mormon company, I am still proud to be a Jewish person. People have often said to me that I “don’t look Jewish.” To which I in-kind reply, you don’t look stupid. But to Ann Coulter, I would not dignify her with such a reply; just implore all media (broadcast, book publishing, internet, etc) to stop giving her a forum! Out of sight, out of mind.

If the Jews were “perfected” would this be a Christian nation? What about the Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnogists, et al. Couter’s remarks are just anti-semetic!

During the first five years or so of BushCo in the WH, the media welcomed every opportunity to display Ann Coulter and her offensive books and remarks to some of the most respected “news” programs. Coulter spoke with the voice of authority as though the Ego-God communicated only with her and never was a disenting voice allowed to debate publicly with her views.

She took great pleasure in insulting every single group that she thought would bring her the most attention. Her remarks were taken seriously and repeated ad nauseum by some of the same media personalities who now claim repugnance for her remarks about Jews. Where was the outrage when so many others were being disparaged by this same “favored child?”

I can’t recall any journalists or the head of any organization calling for her head then - so why NOW? Are they in essence saying that it is ok for someone like Coulter to insult millions of democrats (who also form a “group”) by calling them “Godless” but not be allowed the same opportunity to insult another particular group by claiming that they are Non-Perfect Jews and claiming that “Christians are Perfect Jews” ?

Even Imus is going to be allowed to return to broadcast after his offensive remarks, so why shouldn’t Ann be allowed to keep her celebrity after insulting a different ethnic group? After all, if every thing she says is true - then why not this also?

She has already been given free rein to insult political groups by dragging in religion so why not insult religious groups by dragging in the Bible?

Coulter’s Ego-God has finally given her the pedestal to broadcast her own personal convictions i.e., that [white] Christians are “superior” to ALL others…including those who are her bread-and-butter.

Just think how many others believe as she does…they slavishly buy and read her books!

What a crazy world this is!

I think the Jewish outrage at Ann Coulter, like the outrage at “The Passion of the Christ”, demonstrates that most American Jews, just like Muslims, hate Christians; because true Christianity, by it’s very nature, seeks to bring everyone–Jew, Muslim, atheist–to Christ. American Jews want Christians to reject the Great Commission. True Christians never will.

This further proves the kind of brain-dead bigoted thug Coulter is. And they keep putting her on TV to spout off her stupid statements, for shock value?

Ann Coulter is an embarrassment — her brain is constipated and her verbalizations, diarrhea. Why the media give airtime to her crap is simply a matter of money, so add media-whore to the list of adjectives, too.

I don’t see Ann quite so dangerous or threatening. Don’t forget she does reflect an on going idea and feeling, that Jesus is not given enough importance in the Jewish community. The Christain idea of Jesus son of God, or the Jewish idea, are we not all children from the same father, either way, even when they don’t know it , all Christians are Jews, Jesus was and still is a JEW. So Ann is Jewish, big deal!
