As it Congress is nything fit to clean up the cess pool of pop culture. What a bunch of poverty pimps fat cats on the take they are.
I'd rather deal with the worst of Warner's stable of race bating druggies than a Congress person.
And it's not their job.Congress can pass laws that go cross wise with their interests, doubt the big time.

What the courts going to regulate sexual behavour. Not in this world, judgres invest heavely in the corrections industry and young men of color are their rice bowl.

Blacksploitation is a growth industry as long as the kids buy it.
They know the apple is rotten. White producers going to produce Ozzie and Harret in Black Face. Don't make it.

What happened to the basis of the alternitve cultures? They all found themselves in dead end alleys. Sure the Walter Mosleys are there guys with the good stuff but mostly they die in poverty and obscurity of lonelyness or in the Indian cases self medication. Even the rich mainstreamer's Roth, Perlestein find themselves cul du saced in decaying suburbes where one the Rabbit lived out his empty days.
American culture is in as bad days as American Integrity or American quality. The sit com shows the whole picture. Empty art, empty actors with an empty script. The odd flash shows up but talent is buried in cash.
So we are stuck with stereotypes and men of straw abusing the female as victem.
Are the rappers worse than the Berlin school of 1926. A bit more violent but they are running at the same point, decay.

Everything Ms. Fager said in her address is provably true.
Without categorizing science--defniitions of the real according to essential prioritized content--no "marketplace" of anything can be conducted--not one definition, value standard, application, examplem goods, buying, selling, advertising nor anything else germane to such a marketplace's monitored legal conduct.
What she implies but does not say is that: No definitions have been agreed to by Congress in the humanities. No regulation of non-fictional and fictional information and artistry has been legislated. And these twin defalcations have led to obliteration of any "fairness", "realism" or "responsible" conduct in the many fields of the humanities, academia and the arts. What hss replaced moral-ethical justice in the U.S. you ask? Dictator" tsars" holding gatekeepr--godfather power over every field of thought and endeavor in this country. A neo-mafia of petty dictators, payola and corruption battening on incompetent sub-art,
incompetent statist corporations and a brainwashed discontexted public who regard science as a joke and who substitute myths and stereotypes, unaccountable attitudes positive and negative and analytical excuse making and hyperbole for human interaction on a level of concepts.
Surprisingly, as to this so-called complex issue, I believe I can put it all into a single and simple sentence:
"Postmodernist reality-bashing leads to men's inability to define anything , deal with and regulate human conduct in any marketplace of human ideas, evaluations, goods and services, hirings and the achievement of idea-level leadership, spheres wherein government would otherwise have been able to govern justly."
Hip hop isn't music; and the FCC isn't scientfically defining, monitoring, evaluating of regulating anyone of anything sufficiently--that much is obvious. What is less obvious is why most citizens of this country can't see that they are the victims of a lack of regulations--one by which rights are accessed--and a lack of punishments for those who violate rights--in the music mafia, or anywhere else.
Bravo, Ms.Fager. You are worth any hundred statist anti-individualuist power-mongering failures.
Any day of the week.
