Bio

Dr. Keyan Tomasellli is Programme Director, Graduate programme in Cultural and Media Studies, University of Natal, Durban. He is recipient of a KWANZA Award for his book, The Cinema of Apartheic (Lake View Press, Chicago), and was appointed as a Smithsonian Institution Research Associate (1995-2000) for his extensive work on visual anthropology relating to the image of Africa. Tomaselli has been a Fulbright Scholar at Michigan State University, and has been visiting professor at MSU and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Tomaselli has consulted for UNESCO, and is an external examiner for a number of African universities.
