Bio Patrice Barrat has won several awards in 23 years of journalism, including 14 years in television: Amnesty International award, BAFTA award, FIPA Golden Award, Locarno Film Festival, Adolf Grimme Preis for programs like FAMINE FATIGUE, DROWNING BY BULLETS, VIS à VIS, SARAJEVO: A STREET UNDER SIEGE and THE OTHER ALGERIA. He worked for radio (RTL, 1976 to 1979), was a foreign affairs correspondent in the press (Nouvelles Littéraires, 1980 - 1984) , became chief editor of Gamma Television (1986-1988) after having directed his first documentaries in 1984-85. He founded the television press agency Point du Jour in 1988 and acted as Head of Programs until 1996. He then founded the association Internews Europe which launched several projects to support television professionnals and productions around the world: in the Caucasus, in Algeria, in the Former Yugoslavia. And he joined the board of INPUT (International Conference for Public Television). In 1998, Patrice Barrat founded "Article Z", a new television company, with partners of different nationalities, aimed at producing new formats for television. | |
