Bio Zafaryab Ahmed, a Pakistani journalist, academic and human rights crusader, is the first human rights fellow of the Oak Institute for the Study of International Human Rights at Colby College. The one-semester fellowship was established to allow a front-line human-rights worker to take a sabbatical for research, writing and teaching as a scholar-in-residence at Colby. Ahmed was selected from 68 nominees, in part because he fit the preferred criteria of being involved in on-the-ground human rights work at some level of personal risk. | |
